The moth is found in Europe, North America and Anatolia.
Similar Species Stenoptilia bipunctidactyla.Known Aberrations To Be Completed Adult Images The adults wingspan is 20-28 mm and they fly in one generation between late June and early August. They are attracted to light and can be brought out of the grass easily during the day.
Mating Images None Caterpillar Images The caterpillars mine the shoots and stems of Germander speedwell from August to March. In April and May they feed on the flowers and are very well camouflaged against the plants' stems, dropping to the ground when disturbed.
