Information

Micropterigoidea is the superfamily of "mandibulate archaic moths", all placed in the single family Micropterigidae, containing currently 12 living genera. There is 180 currently described species. They are considered the most primitive extant lineage of Lepidoptera which means all of the species that have been recorded, still exist.
